STRONG WEEK Last week was a tough one because we did different activities such as studying the generation and failure of Roundabout Playpump appropriate technology in Africa, problem context and some lectures about empathy, synthesis, research methods and the double diamonds concept. After forming groups, my teammates and I were assigned to solve a problem at Selcom concerning spilt drinks during delivery and we did some research on their company in all sectors. The next day we got a chance to interview them about the whole situation and asked their driver to explain what exactly happens during delivery and how they position their orders. I was only thinking about school, lectures and theories from our teachers and finding a job after I graduate. On the other hand we were not given a chance to understand what engineering really is. Get to know about prototyping… A preliminary version of a device or vehicle from which other forms are developed is called prototype. There are many advantages of working on a prototype before developing the actual device include: it is easy to detect the missing functionality, it can be reused by the developer for more complicated projects in the future and it is easy to detect errors. So do I !  To keep a long story short, there is no perfect design in the world, and never trust a design that is flawless. But when you believe and put effort and time into creating one, then you know how close you are to the final product. Sometimes your prototype may look completely boring and mundane at first glance but if you take a closer look, it can reveal mind blowing details.
